“Why me?” or “Why is this happening to me?” is something we can commonly ask ourselves or the universe/ANYONE who will listen when things might not go the way we would like.

I had a situation last week occur that almostcaught me thinking why me, and I thought the process was worth sharing for a blog learning.

When you try something new, work diligently at something, put the time in or simply “just want something” we can stumble on the ‘Why me?’ when it doesn’t turn out.  And when I caught myself slipping into this “why is this happening?” mode, I caught it.

I asked myself:

“What’s in this moment for you that makes this important to be experiencing?”

“How will this serve you better in the long (and even short) term?”

And finally

“Why not me?”

Stuff/ Crap/ Tough situations/ Hardships happen to people every day.

EVERYDAY.

We all need to have a turn lol!

Me asking myself “Why not me?” literally lightened what the experience and the emotions that went with it felt like.  And the other two questions (“What’s in this moment for you that makes this important to be experiencing?” and “How will this serve you better in the long term?”) helped me to realise that although I had to wade through the crummy feelings initially, that this was definitely a vulnerable moment, it was good that it happened now versus 6 months from now.

Three great questions to keep handy.

It might be “your turn” soon ;0)

Happy July xo
